Wednesday January 10th, 2024
Today was my first day back in ISM after winter break. Right now, I am just working on planning out my work and determining all the deadlines and tasks in order to help me stay on track with my work. This semester is going to be very busy with speeches, research presentations, mentor meetings, and creating my final project plan. As a result I really want to stay on top of my work because getting behind will make it very difficult to catch back up.
Today, I really focused on trying to find a mentor. I contacted Dr. Robertson, because I was hoping I could shadow him and meet him in person. I am thinking that if he agrees I also might ask him to be my mentor.
I was also brainstorming a little bit about what I would like to create for my final project. After learning from one of my interviews my initial idea was to create a tool to help female soccer players prevent ACL injuries by using a brace with a gyroscopic measurement. It will vibrate when their angle and speed are at a level that could cause an ACL tear. However, if Dr. Robertson agrees to be my mentor I was thinking I could also create a project related to sports injuries in hockey.
Overall, right now, I am just working on getting some of the planning, organization, and brainstorming done so that I can stay ahead of my work in ISM better this semester.
