Last One Best One!

Monday April 29th, 2024

I can not believe that today I am writing my last blog for ISM. Last week we had our ISM Final Presentation Night and it was really fun. I was actually very nervous and it did not start off how I expected but I made it and I presented, and the best part was how good my friends, family, and mentor made me feel and seeing how proud they were.

As I was getting ready to leave for the ISM final presentation night, the house across the street from mine caught on fire! It was crazy, and firefighters came and blocked my driveway. Not only that but the fire was so big you could feel it when I stood at my door. It was extremely hectic, especially because it was not a natural occurring fire, so it spread really fast. In the time when I was trying to calm down and get mentally ready for my presentation I was so distracted. Then, it was getting closer to the time I needed to be at school, and they were no longer blocking my car but they had blocked off the entire street. So I ran outside in my heels and asked the police officer if I could leave but he said no because of the ashes falling. So I walked. It was actually the craziest thing ever, and totally not what I expected would happen. But it was all ok, I got to school, and was able to present and it went well!

My presentation went fantastic. I got to play my entire video for my friends and family.

My best friend Cali and Aishwarya, my mom, dad, and two sisters, my mentor’s PA Ms. Amber, and my uncle all came.

I absolutely loved being able to show them what I had been working on all year. Everyone loved the video, and my mentor Ms. Amber was so sweet and commented that it looked like an ESPN video which is the best compliment ever!

Something I did to make my presentation more interactive was I passed out the pamphlets in the middle of the presentation. This allowed me to see their reactions to it right away. I think it was good to do it that way because then they could also see the pamphlet and then learn about what it is immediately.  Ms. Amber also loved the pamphlets and took them all with her!!! That was so very amazing and it made me feel like I actually did something to help my community! That was my absolute favorite part!
