Making Progress on My Pamphlets

Monday April 1st, 2024

This weekend I started working on creating the pamphlets for my final project. It is actually really fun, and I am enjoying being able to create this for patients. I have already completely finished the pamphlet about patella dislocations. I have designed the pamphlets for ankle sprains and ACL tears.  I have also added all the educational photos I want to include on them and  labeled all the x-ray and anatomy photos of the injuries.

I also started working on the physical therapy portion of my pamphlet. I wanted to include a QR code with a link to a document depicting the proper physical therapy exercises, instructions on how to do them, and the reason for doing them. I think this is an important tool for patients and something that they would hopefully appreciate having.

In addition to focusing on the practicality of the pamphlets, the information, and the labeled educational photos I wanted to focus on the design. Since this is something Dr. Robertson would hopefully like to have in his office and give to his patients, I wanted it to reflect the look and feel of his office. As a result I went with the traditional blue colors of healthcare. Although I also implemented some green because he is the Dallas Stars Team Doctor. I also didn’t want the brochures to be the same template over and over, so I plan on creating 7 different pamphlet designs. However, in design it's important to keep an element of design consistent throughout everything so that it looks cohesive. As a result, I am using angles as my element that is consistent throughout each pamphlet.

Overall, it's looking really good, and I'm excited to continue working on it and display it at Final Presentation Night.
